A God Guided Expansion of Ministry
At the beginning of our journey in ministry, God allowed us to pioneer a ministry in Dutch St. Maarten from 1975 to 1983.
When our season of ministry in St. Maarten concluded, we returned to St. Croix and worshipped for several months at #9 East Street.
Shortly thereafter, we began our second church plant: the First United Pentecostal Church, located at Plot #255 in Estate Glynn.
This site became home to St. Croix’s first church tent, marking an important milestone for the island’s Pentecostal community.
Throughout this season, we worked together diligently—both in our personal lives and in our marriage—with the shared commitment to uphold the Name of Jesus and maintain the integrity of the church.
Over time, my husband assumed responsibility for paying the note on the church property.
While faithfully fulfilling his God-given calling as pastor, he also worked as an arc welder, served as an island tour guide, and dedicated significant time to the community as a volunteer Tourism Ambassador.
His hard work and generosity helped secure and protect the two acre church property.

In the 1990s, the church’s name was changed to Anastasis Pentecostal Church (APC). Anastasis —a Greek word meaning “resurrection”—captured the spirit of renewal that defined that era.
During this time, we met Sister Gertrude, a woman who was severely stooped and unable to stand upright. We cared for her by transporting her to church and helping with her groceries.
“One Sunday, while praying with her at the altar, we determined not to leave until God responded. Later that afternoon, during continued prayer, a remarkable miracle occurred: Sister Gertrude stood upright for the first time and walked out of the building without assistance. We will always remember the day the Lord healed her.”
The ministry continued to grow under Brother Trim’s leadership. In 2002, APC Christian Preschool opened its doors in Estate Glynn, offering Christian education to the children of St. Croix.
The school quickly became a positive influence in the community and served many families.
Although unforeseen circumstances eventually required the school to close a few years later, its impact on the island’s youth remains a meaningful part of APC’s legacy.
Bishop Desmond C. Trim
His Missionary Journeys Before His Departure to Be with the Lord in 2018

In the mid ‑2000s, Anastasis Pentecostal Church (APC) merged with Faith Ministries in Jamaica, and the united work became known as Faith Aflame Ministry Inc.
Bishop Desmond C. Trim envisioned a ministry in which the flame of the gospel would continue to burn brightly. Known for his integrity and unwavering dedication, he labored with his own hands to ensure that the church remained debt free.
His longstanding dream was to return to the Caribbean islands to preach the gospel, strengthen the saints, and help unite pastors and churches across the region. He often expressed that he would not leave this life until this calling‑ was fulfilled.
In 2006, Victorious Apostolic Ministries (VAC) in the United States recognized the need for greater fellowship among Apostolic churches worldwide. Bishop Grace Nelson recommended expanding this effort into the Caribbean, and Bishop Basil Nelson supported the vision.
Two churches, including Faith Ministries in Jamaica, joined VAC, forming a strong partnership. This fellowship continued to grow, with annual conferences becoming a cherished tradition.
An Overseer from VAC traveled to St. Lucia and learned of Bishop Trim’s ministry on the island. He reached out, and Bishop Trim soon joined the VAC fellowship.
Together, we traveled throughout the Caribbean, ministering in various islands where many souls received the Holy Ghost and were baptized in Jesus’ Name.
As this outreach expanded, Bishop Grace Nelson served as secretary, and Pastor Trim was appointed Overseer. The Jamaican congregation later merged with APC to form Faith Aflame Faith Ministries Inc.
In 2007, the church property in St. Croix was rededicated, and in 2008 Pastor Trim was ordained as a Bishop in Jamaica during a service held by Faith Aflame Faith Ministries Inc., attended by saints who came to celebrate and support him. VAC sponsored Bishop Trim and Bishop Grace Nelson to conduct missionary journeys across the Caribbean.
His passion for uniting pastors and encouraging them to join the fellowship led to visits to Grenada, Dominica, St. Maarten, St. Kitts & Nevis, and other islands.
In Grenada, the ministry witnessed a powerful move of God—five persons were baptized in Jesus’ Name during the first baptismal service, and twenty more during the second.
Bishop Trim also sought to strengthen the ministry in the United States. Pastors from across the Caribbean and the U.S. were invited to Jamaica for a grand conference held at Faith Aflame Faith Ministries Inc.
Many pledged their support and partnership. However, financial limitations restricted his ability to fully expand the work to the degree he envisioned.
At the end of these labors, he continued shepherding the congregations in Jamaica and St. Croix, faithfully attending every convocation except in 2016 and 2017. Though he longed to attend Convocation 2018, illness prevented him from traveling.
Despite the distance, the bond between the churches in Jamaica and St. Croix remained strong. Bishop Trim, his wife, and children were loved and warmly welcomed during their visits to Jamaica.
In return, when the Jamaica leadership traveled to St. Croix—Bishop Basil Nelson, Bishop Grace Nelson, Minister Amory Nelson, Minister Everton Wellington, and others.
It was a time of joyful fellowship. Sis. Amory ministered in song, supported praise and worship, and even played the drums on occasion.
Under Bishop Trim’s leadership, several individuals were ordained, including Evangelist Lurine Trim, Minister Tarcious Lawrence, and Missionary Ambrosine Lawrence.
Even in his final days, Bishop Trim’s heart remained anchored in the mission. With renewed faith, he sent a message to Bishop Grace Nelson—unaware it would be his last:
“God bless you and we believe Jesus. I’m on my way to the airport believing God for the miracle to totally remove that curse, that mass from behind my left kidney in Jesus’ Name. I’m gonna be alright in Jesus’ Name.”
His words reflected unwavering determination to be healed so he could continue the work of the Lord.
Bishop Desmond C. Trim has fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness.

A Matriarch, Intercessor, and Pillar of Strength
Evangelist Lurine Trim is a woman whose life reflects unwavering faith, resilience, and a deep commitment to family and community. Known for her gentle spirit and steadfast strength, she has spent her life pouring wisdom, love, and stability into everyone connected to her.
Evangelist Lurine embodies the kind of grace that doesn’t need to announce itself—her presence alone brings comfort, her words bring clarity, and her prayers bring peace.
As a devoted mother and matriarch, Evangelist Lurine has shaped generations with her example of integrity, compassion, and perseverance.
Her home has always been a place of warmth, laughter, and spiritual grounding—a refuge where people feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
She carries a nurturing heart that extends far beyond her immediate family, touching neighbors, friends, church members, and anyone blessed enough to cross her path.
Evangelist Lurine’s faith is the anchor of her life. She is a committed intercessor whose prayers have strengthened families, sustained ministries, and opened doors for countless individuals.
Her walk with God is marked by humility and quiet devotion, expressed not through titles or platforms but through consistent love, service, and a life lived with purpose.

Her wisdom is one of her greatest gifts. Evangelist Lurine Trim has a way of offering guidance that is both practical and spiritually grounded—speaking truth with kindness, correcting with love, and encouraging with sincerity.
Evangelist Trim’s counsel has shaped decisions, restored hope, and helped many navigate life’s most challenging seasons.
Beyond her spiritual and family influence, Evangelist Lurine is admired for her work ethic, her generosity, and her ability to create an atmosphere of peace wherever she goes.
She carries herself with quiet dignity, never seeking attention yet always leaving an impact.

Today, Evangelist Lurine Trim continues to inspire through her example—teaching others the value of faith, the importance of family, and the power of love lived out daily.
Her legacy is one of prayer, perseverance, and purpose, and her influence will continue to echo through the lives she has touched for generations to come.

My husband was always eager to collaborate with other Apostolic ministries. He lived with a God-given‑ vision to see Apostolics unite in evangelizing St. Croix, the Caribbean, and the United States. He carried tremendous optimism about the renewed relationships forming among Apostolic pastors in St. Croix, Jamaica, and Florida.
Prior to Hurricane Maria in 2017, he made several Facebook posts that began attracting meaningful attention. As people reached out seeking God, he joyfully responded, which led to several Bible studies.
When Pastor Stewart and the saints of Pentecostal Tabernacle in North Miami, Florida, sacrificially sent hurricane relief supplies—along with several young men to assist‑ in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria—my husband was deeply grateful. He cherished the opportunity to distribute those supplies throughout the St. Croix community. On many occasions, we heard him say,
“I wish I had money—I’d go to Florida and buy a few more trailer loads of supplies to help meet the needs.”
My husband was a loving man of God. He believed wholeheartedly in the Word, stood firmly for righteousness, and preached with the desire to reach and transform hearts. During our almost 43 years of marriage, the Lord blessed us with two children—Lorraine (and our granddaughter, Laila) and Kirby (and our daughter-in‑love, Kanece)—each a precious part of our life and legacy.
